Ghana Receives 50,000 Additional COVID-19 Vaccines

Ghana has taken conveyance of 50,000 more COVID-19 antibody portions from India.

The Foreign Affairs And Regional Integration Minister-assign, Shirley Ayorkor Botchwey, and the Minister of Health, Kwaku Agyeman-Manu, got the immunizations.

The gift from India follows the conveyance of 600,000 dosages of the Oxford/AstraZeneca antibodies to Ghana, under the COVAX Initiative.
In her comments, Madam Botchwey said the gift “is positively significant help to our battle against the COVID-19 pandemic and mirrors the heartfelt and congenial relations among Ghana and India.

“Moreover, it underscores the shared responsibility of our two governments to work in fortitude and association to address basic difficulties, including the COVID-19 pandemic,” she added.

The Minister additionally guaranteed that the public authority is “investigating every possibility in the mission to get, in any event, 20 million dosages of COVID-19 antibodies to adequately vaccinate the populace.”
Ghana is presently occupied with the antibody rollout in 43 regions, which are focal points of the pandemic in the country.

Around 25 of these regions are in the Greater Accra Region, 16 in Ashanti Region, and two in the Central Region.
